Pieter-Paul spent his early years moving around the globe with his family before obtaining a Master’s degree in Air transport Management (thesis focused on human processes in Flight Crew). Following this achievement, in 2008, Pieter-Paul started his flying career as First Officer on the Bombardier Q400 with Luxembourg’s flagship carrier, Luxair. He honed his skills within the airline, working as a Ground Instructor focused on classroom courses, and supporting the Q400 Fleet Chief with various Flight Operations related tasks.
Pieter-Paul joined Cargolux Airlines International in 2014 as First Officer and has more recently upgraded to Captain. Building on his previous experience as an instructor, he gave various courses in the Flight Crew Training department as Theoretical knowledge Instructor. This position enabled him to gain valuable insight into Cargolux’s unique operation.
Since his appointment as Assistant Chief pilot in 2019 and now Deputy Chief Pilot, he has supported Cargolux’s crews and the Flight Operations division. The challenges experienced over the past two years have highlighted the importance of flexible flight operations, a principle Pieter-Paul applies diligently in his everyday work.
