Björn Hennig

Dr. Björn Hennig holds a diploma in industrial engineering and has received his PhD in the field of Operations Research and Data Science. He also has an MSc Safety and Accident Investigation (Air Transport) from Cranfield University, UK and is currently exploring big data approaches towards Safety Management, Crew Fatigue and evidence-based Training (ebT) research. Dr. Hennig worked for and consulted aviation companies in the areas of flight safety, data and performance management.

In his role as IATA Subject Matter Expert he is responsible for the development of the IATA Fatigue Aware Repository & Benchmarking toolset.

As a passionate pilot and reserve officer of the German Air Force, he has in-depth knowledge and understanding of the aviation industry. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and holds lectures at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany.
